Playstation 5 Pre Order??

This past Wednesday Sony gave us one hell of showcase showing off a bunch of games coming to the PS5 at launch and in the near future and the price of the console, which you can find articles here on megabytegaming, but the show ended without giving us a little bit of important information that being the pre order date. Within the hour a tweet went out from Geoff Keighley letting us know that on September 17th pre orders would be going live from select retailers at different times, Twitter goes into a uproar, why didn’t Sony let us know that during the presentation.. strange. Couple hours later the first link drops; “PS5 pre orders now live at Best Buy” EXCUSE ME?! I thought it was tomorrow and from then on it was store after store, to Walmart, EB Games/Gamestop, Target in the US, hours go by and some people are getting them those being the ones who sat at their desk all evening and got lucky. Later in the night Amazons pre orders would go live and sell out in seconds, I was lucky enough to grab a digital edition off Amazon at damn near 2:30 in the morning. The next morning would come and EB Games and Gamestops would have a in store pre order with a $100 deposit but all in all Sony pulled the wool over people’s eyes, they stated a couple weeks back that the pre orders would not be random and that they would let us know before hand so we could be ready but it was the complete opposite and gamers around the world knew what it felt like to be a shoe collector trying to get a pair of sneakers off Nike or some other site, but this was the worst console pre order drop in recent memory, next time Sony take a page out from Microsoft’s book and give us some time, please?

Do you think Sony should have been more transparent with the pre order dates?
